~Welcome to Day 2~
....If you want a chance to win blog candy listed below, please be sure to read and leave a comment on my Day 1 blog post, too...It's just below this one!
If you came from Lisa's blog: http://bitbythecricutbug.blogs pot.com/, you are hopping in the right direction. If you just popped by on my blog, you really should start from the beginning of the hop and be sure to leave comments along the way to qualify for some amazing blog candy! Our fabulous hostess, Jennifer (http://craftcardgallery.blogspot.com) came up with a great hop and some great prizes. Also some of us bloggers have "blog candy," too..so you have chances to win even more stuff....so read on and hop along for inspiration and fun!!
The rest of my home may look like a tornado blew threw it (and her name is Michelle, my 3yr old), but my craft area is organized and everything has it's place...Disorganization and piles of unknown stuff just obstructs my creative "chi" (or flow or juices..whatever you call it). Most of my craft area is very organized, but there is this one shelf....Ugh...it pains me to show this.
Do you have a shelf, corner, or drawer in your craft area that looks like this...? It's like that drawer in your kitchen ..the one that just catches stuff that you don't know what to do with. Well, this past weekend...I decided to tackle the shelf from hellf. :) I trashed or found a home for most of the items. Now the shelf looks clean...and I can focus on my crafts again.
In preparing for this hop, I wanted to try out some new card techniques. I am fairly new to cardmaking, so I search on YouTube for ideas. I found a quick video on "Pop-up" cards. The video was great to get the idea, but it left a few things off....I gathered some scraps and my Create a Critter Cricut cartridge and got started:
I decided to make a nature/wilderness themed card for my niece who is at "sleep away" camp. For the card base, I used a heavy turquoise blue, glitter cardstock scrap to look like the sky. Cut and scored paper in half. Then, I created the characters to put into the card (to pop up). I chose 3 fir trees and a raccoon. Traced and measured out the spacing for the images. I cut a thin 1/2inch spacer for the tree and then a thicker one, 1 inch, for the raccoon. For the raccoon spacer, I made it a bit longer than the tree one...so that the images would be at different spots.
I think it turned out cute...
The outside is from a scrap of paw print paper, cut the same dimension as the other paper. Sentiment says, "Have a WILD time." I also tore black scrap paper around each word to create a rough looking border....
This was a very fun card. I plan to make a few more!...
but before I do, I have some digital photos and negatives to get organized. I plan to upload all my important photos on my external driver...another weekend project...
Ok, now to the fun stuff...BLOG CANDY!
I have THREE prizes for THREE lucky winners (these are in addition to the awesome prizes Jennifer and other bloggers may have lined up!!):
For intricate cuts, nothing beats CutterBee scissors...I use mine all the time, and now you can, too!
A brand new Creative Memories Deco File...just like the one I used to sort my scraps!
$10 Michael's Gift Card
I will be posting on both days of the hop (Saturday and Sunday). To qualify for these 3 prizes, please visit my posts on both days, become a follower, and leave me comments on both posts with a way to contact you if you win. I will use Random.org to choose the winners. If you are one of many frustrated bloggers, who cannot seem to leave comments..please send me an email (tuttletime_cm at yahoo dot com). I'll add your comment (based on the time of your email) to the list of comments here. :)
Please be sure to follow the rules to the other blogs to qualify for their prizes. Be sure to visit all the blogs & leave comments, as there will be a grand prize, a $50 credit to the Designs on Cloud 9 store, http://www.designsoncloud9.com / sponsored by Michelle of Designs on Cloud 9. To win the grand prize, you must comment on and become a follower of all the blogs.
THANKS SO MUCH FOR STOPPING BY! NOW GET TO CRAFTIN'! :)

Super cute card! I'm also new to card making and haven't yet attempted a pop-up. I did just make a wiper card for my husbands b-day. I'll be posting it on my blog tomorrow after I give it to him. Love it if you'd check it out.
